力学系、エルゴード理論
カオス、ゆらぎ、ランダム力学系
エルゴード理論というのが専門分野です。熱力学の延長上にある統計力学の発展とともに進歩してきましたが、代数、幾何、解析といった数学全分野と関わるということで「数学の交差点」と呼ばれたこともある分野です。20世紀後半からは，カオス現象のような，見逃してしまいそうな些細な変化が地球上のほんの小さな地域で発生すると、それがいつかは地球全体に甚大な影響を及ぼすことになるといった現象に関連する様々な数理現象を理論的に研究する分野の一つとしても認識されています。

■ 教育、研究、社会貢献活動の方針
1. 確率論や力学系といっても応用よりは純正理論をしっかり教育研究することが大切だと思っています。すぐに役に立つということはなくとも、自然現象の原理や法則に立脚した思考ができる人材の養成にたずさわることによって社会に貢献したいと常日頃思っています。
