概要	I will explore new architectural narrative paradigm through the recent renewal and renovation project of Tsukuba Center Building. Tha narratives of this building, designed and completed in 1983 by Arata Isozaki, are based on what this paper calls the architect-building paradigm: the identification of architects’ intentions and explanations for the value of the buildings they design. Tsukuba Center Building saw the establishment of this paradigm at the time of its completion. However, this paper argues that the architect-building paradigm for Tsukuba Center Building was revised by participants in a debate that developed around its renewal and renovation project, launched 40 years after the building’s completion, and was eventually replaced by a completely different paradigm. For this purpose, I traces the narratives of various actors, such as the administration, architectural professionals, and citizens.
