概要	This presentation aims to re-examine Aldo Rossi's L'architettura della città (The Architecture of the City), especially focusing on two topics: functionalism and typology. In the reception of Rossi in the world, in particular in the 'postmodernist' context, these two have been taken as key concepts for Rossi's architectural project theory. In contrast to such 'postmodernist' understandings, this presentation tries to show that in L'architettura della città these are introduced and discussed only from the view-point of urban analysis, and that we should be more careful when connecting them to architectural project theory.
