概要 | The effect of the magnetothermal force is numerically investigated on the natural convection of air through a vertical duct filled with open-cell porous media. The duct is settled inside a large enclosure whose walls are at constant temperature. An isotropic porous media in the duct is heated at a constant heat flux thus the buoyant flow is induced and the fluid goes out the duct. Then the fluid returns to the bottom of the duct due to circulation flow of natural convection. We imposed on the air flow through the porous media in the presence of the magnetic force. The magnetic field is presumed from a one-turn electric coil. The heat and fluid flow simulations are performed by the lattice Boltzmann method with the consideration of the buoyancy and magnetothermal forces. It is found that, the magnetothermal force near the electric coil enhances the heat transfer and flow flux, depending on the heat flux, magnetic induction, coil elevation, and structural properties of porous media. |
