概要 To describe the effects of grooved stators on torque and heat transfer performance of drive motors, we perform direct numerical simulations by the lattice Boltzmann method. Taylor-Couette (TC) turbulent flows with an axially grooved stationary cylinder are considered as the modelled motor flows. The radius ratio of the present TC flow configuration is approximately 0.95 and the simulated Reynolds numbers are up to 13000. The characteristics of torque and heat transfer are discussed comparing the cases with and without grooves. It is suggested that the scaling exponent of the Taylor number for the dimensionless torque increases by the grooves depending on the groove number while the scaling exponent for Nusselt number doesn't vary significantly.
